Kids love tossing coins for luck and choosing their first Italian gelato. Dinner at a family-friendly trattoria near your hotel. Overnight in Rome.
Day 2
After breakfast, enjoy a guided, family-focused tour of the Colosseum. Hear gladiator tales adapted for kids, see the arena floor, and learn how spectacles were staged. Continue to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill to understand where emperors lived and how ancient Romans spent their day. Afternoon at leisure—consider a hands-on pizza-making class (optional) where children can shape and bake their own pizza. Overnight in Rome.
Day 3
Start with skip-the-line entry to the Vatican Museums, curated to keep children engaged with sculptures, maps, and bright frescoes. Visit the Sistine Chapel to admire Michelangelo’s ceiling (guides use story-style narration for kids). Continue to St. Peter’s Basilica and its vast square. Later, take a “time travel” walk: Spanish Steps ? Via Condotti window shopping ? Pantheon’s giant dome. Evening free for a relaxed family dinner. Overnight in Rome.
Day 4
Board a comfortable high-speed train to Florence (approx. 1.5 hours). Check in and freshen up. In the afternoon, take a guided walking tour: Piazza del Duomo and its cathedral façade, Giotto’s Bell Tower, and the Baptistery doors. Walk to Piazza della Signoria to spot famous statues, then cross the medieval Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) with its jewelry shops. Optional gelato-tasting stop where kids pick flavors and learn how real gelato is made. Overnight in Florence.
Day 5
After breakfast, drive to Pisa (approx. 1 hour). Explore the Square of Miracles: Leaning Tower, Cathedral, and Baptistery. Family photos with creative “holding the tower” poses are a must. Return via the Tuscan countryside for a short farm visit (optional): meet friendly farm animals, see olive groves or vineyards, and enjoy a light tasting of local produce (kids can try fresh bread, honey, or simple biscuits). Back to Florence. Overnight in Florence.
Day 6
Morning at the Uffizi Gallery with a kid-friendly highlights route—spot Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus” and learn simple stories behind Renaissance art. Later, stroll through the San Lorenzo leather market where children can pick small souvenirs (wallets or keychains). Afternoon free: consider a short climb to Piazzale Michelangelo for a panoramic family photo of Florence. Overnight in Florence.
Day 7
Travel to Venice (approx. 2 hours). Check in at your Grand Canal–side hotel and take a magical gondola ride through narrow canals—children enjoy spotting bridges and listening to gondoliers explain Venice’s “floating city” history. Evening walk in St. Mark’s Square to admire the Basilica’s façade and feed pigeons (where permitted). Overnight in Venice.
Day 8
Board a boat to Murano to watch a live glass-blowing demonstration—kids are fascinated seeing glass turned into horses, vases, and tiny animals. Continue to Burano, famous for lace-making and rainbow-colored fishermen’s houses (great for photos). Try simple seafood or pasta at a local trattoria. Return to Venice by evening with time for family souvenir shopping—masks, magnets, and tiny glass pieces. Overnight in Venice.
Day 9
After breakfast, travel to Milan by high-speed train (approx. 2.5 hours). Check in and head for a guided visit: the Duomo Cathedral (outside & inside), the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II arcade with its impressive glass dome, and the La Scala Opera House (outside). Time permitting, browse the family-friendly stores around Via Dante or Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Optional: advance-booked visit to see “The Last Supper” (subject to availability). Overnight in Milan.
